Sheriff of Polk County

Bob Wolfe grew up in Keizer Oregon, graduated McNary High School in 1972.  He married his wife Gail in 1973 and moved to Independence.  Bob and Gail have two children, Christi and Rob and one grandchild.  Christi who is a Salem Police Dispatcher and Rob, who works  for the Beaverton Police Department as a Police Officer.

Bob Wolfe has over 30 years in Law Enforcement.  Starting his career with the Independence Police Department in 1973 and then in 1977 he became a deputy with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Bob has worked as a deputy sheriff, corporal, sergeant and lieutenant.  At the rank of Lieutenant, he worked both as a Jail Commander and a Patrol Commander.  Bob was elected Sheriff of Polk County in November of 1998, taking Office December 31, 1998.

Sheriff Wolfe is currently in his third term as the Sheriff of Polk County and is also on numerous boards and committees with the Oregon State Sheriff's Association, The Willamette Valley Communication Center Budget Committee and a member of the Regional Automated Inter-Agency Network, also known as RAIN.

Sheriff Wolfe is recognized by other agencies for his cooperative team approach and has been the recipient of the Oregon State Sheriff's Association, "Sheriff of the Year" for 2001 and 2005.

Sheriff Wolfe is also a past President of the "Oregon State Sheriff's Association".
